Mark Caguioa bags long-awaited MVP plum
More than 10 years after entering the PBA, Mark Caguioa was officially named MVP for his performance in the 37th season of the PBA

MANILA, Philippines – He’s been in the league for over a decade and for many, his name is synonymous to the words “most valuable player.” 

But on Sunday, July 29, Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) athlete Mark Caguioa finally made his informal title official.

More than 10 years after entering the PBA, the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings stalwart was officially handed the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for his performance in the 37th season of the PBA. 

“Sa inyong sigawan, tilian, at palakpakan, doon ako kumukuha ng inspirasyon (I get inspiration from the fans),” Caguioa said in an interview with PBA anchors after the awarding.

Prior to getting the MVP award, Caguioa was named the best player of the Governor’s Cup conference.
