MANILA, Philippines – Another overtime thriller goes down in NBA Finals history books.
The Cleveland Cavaliers held off the Golden State Warriors in overtime of a heart-stopping Game 2, 95-93, of the NBA Finals to tie the series at 1-1 on Monday, June 8 (Sunday, June 7 US time) at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California
Cleveland weathered a an endgame fightback from Golden State, who erased an 11-point deficit with over 3 minutes remaining in regulation to force overtime.
But with NBA MVP Steph Curry ice cold all game long, the Warriors failed to win at home and will be tested on the road for Game 3 and 4 at the Cavaliers’ homecourt.
Matthew Dellavedova embraced the challenge of taking over from an injured Kyrie Irving and stepped up big time, hitting the game-winning free throws with 10.1 seconds left in the extra session.
