Holm: I don’t wish Rousey any hate

MANILA, Philippines – For all the hate Ronda Rousey has been getting since her shocking loss at UFC 193, the very foe who delivered the knockout blow refuses to add more.

Newly-minted women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm remained graceful in victory and said she would never wish harm or hate on the embattled Rousey. (WATCH: Rousey hides face as she returns home after loss to Holm)

“I have a lot of respect for her, don’t get me wrong. I’ll take the win. And I’ll take that I did it dominantly. But that doesn’t mean that I wish any harm on her, that I wish any hate on her,” the 34-year old said in a Skype interview with TMZ Sports. 

“I think people can be pretty brutal and when you’re in the spot she’s in, there are people that are just gonna jump ship. I don’t ever want to wish for that.”

Holm made history Sunday, November 15, when she knocked out Rousey with a well-placed left head kick to take the title and deal Rousey her first career defeat. 

The victory was quickly followed by much criticism on Rousey for what was perceived to be arrogance in a confrontational Instagram post and for not touching gloves before the fight. (READ: Mayweather defends Rousey after loss)

“I don’t want any of that (online hate) to happen. I do feel like I come from maybe a little more humble spot but that’s just because I don’t ever want to say I’m this good or I’m that and have something happen and look like a fool,” said Holm, who is now 10-0 with 7 knockouts. (READ: ‘I’ll be back,’ says Ronda Rousey after KO loss)
