ONE Championship returns to PH in December

MANILA, Philippines – ONE Championship announces its second Philippine date for the year as Asia’s largest mixed martial arts promotion will host a fight card dubbed “Spirit of Champions” on December 11.

ONE: Spirit of Champions marks the organization’s seventh trip to the country and is set to take place at the 20,000-seater SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City as the company has a lucrative deal with the Henry Sy-owned showground that requires ONE to hold events twice a year inside the state-of-the-art venue.

No bouts have been announced for the aforementioned affair as of the moment, but it is expected that ONE will parade Filipino fighters such as Mark Striegl and Eugene Toquero, who pulled off stellar performances this past April.

The Baguio City-based Team Lakay has also been a staple on all ONE cards in the Philippines as local fight fans have yet to see the return of Philippine MMA frontrunner Eduard Folayang, who suffered a brutal knockout loss to Russian standout Timofey Nastyukhin last December.

Aside from the announcement of the December event on Philippine shores, ONE likewise confirmed visits in China on September 1, Indonesia on September 27, Malaysia on October 9, Macau on November 7 and Singapore on November 13.
