Filipino taekwondo jin Rodolfo Reyes Jr continues to shine in international competitions as he pocketed the country’s lone gold in the 2020 Lents Taekwondo Worldwide Online Poomsae Open last Sunday, September 20.

Reyes recorded an average of 7.35 points in the under-30 senior male category to take the top spot over taekwondo powerhouses Korea and Taiwan.

Korea’s Choo Rok Oh finished behind him with an average of 7.235 points for silver while Taiwan’s Chiou Mu En settled for bronze with 7.185 points.

Reyes’ international gold comes after he raked in a double gold in the country’s hosting of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games. He topped the individual category and led the men’s poomsae team to a third straight gold in the regional biennial meet.

Reyes is part of the formidable trio with the Mella brothers –  Dustin Jacob and Raphael Enrico – who also copped a 2018 Asian Games bronze in the men’s poomsae team event. (READ: Golden trio: Brotherhood key for PH poomsae team)
