After the heartbreak of their inspiring performance against Croatia in their FIBA World Cup debut, Gilas Pilipinas looks to rebound against a tough Greece team in Group B action.
Greece, which defeated Senegal 87-64 in their opening game, is bannered by NBA vets Nick Calathes and the “Greek Freak” Giannis Antetokounmpo. The team has an average height of 6-foot-8, with three players (Giannis Bourousis, Ian Vougioukas and Andreas Glyniadakis) standing at least 7-foot.
It was 6-foot-9 power forward Kostas Kaimakoglou who did the most damage against Senegal, as he scored 17 and grabbed 8 rebounds.
Gilas will be looking to pull off a significant upset against the FIBA ranked 5th best team in the world.
