The Houston Rockets suffered their second straight loss in the NBA Summer League after falling to the Orlando Magic, 89-76, on Sunday, August 15, (Monday, August 16, Manila time), at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

With Filipino-American rookie sensation Jalen Green out for the Rockets due to a sore right hamstring, the Magic went to work right away and built a double-digit lead early in the second period, 31-20.

The Rockets fought their way back and momentarily held the lead in the third quarter, but the Magic went on another huge run at the start of the final frame to put the Green-less Rockets away for good.

Yante Maten finished with 18 points and 9 rebounds, while Cole Anthony added 15 points and 7 boards for the Magic, who are also missing the services of their top rookie Jalen Suggs due to a left thumb sprain.

Josh Christopher, the 24th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, topscored for the Rockets with 22 points, while Anthony Lamb and Alperen Sengun chipped in 17 and 13 points, respectively. – Rappler.com
