Filipino karateka Jamie Lim is the perfect example of brains, brawn, and beauty.

After graduating summa cum laude in BS Mathematics from the University of the Philippines, Lim cruised to the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games karate gold in the female kumite +61kg event.

Though she is widely known as the daughter of Samboy Lim, she aims to make a name for herself in Philippine sports by clinching a Tokyo 2020 Olympics berth.

But Lim had to battle through the whole pandemic where combat sports were not allowed in Metro Manila.

Despite the lost time, she is now giving it her all in the national team training in Istanbul, Turkey before she competes in the world Olympic qualifiers in Paris, France in June. – Rappler.com
