PSL: Petron holds on to top spot with win over Cignal

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Petron Blaze Spikers grabs a firm hold on the Philippine SuperLiga Grand Prix top spot with a 25-18, 25-20, 25-17 victory over Cignal on Thursday, November 17 at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.

American import Stephanie Niemer was named the top scorer of the game, chipping in 15 points with 11 excellent spikes. Aiza Pontillas and Ces Molina each contributed 11 points to help Petron seal the first place in the tournament, with a win-loss record of 7-1. 

Janine Marciano had 11 points and 8 excellent spikes on the board for Cignal, but it was not enough to win a set for her team. 

Following the straight sets loss, Cignal now drops to 1-6.
