MANILA, Philippines – Post, clarify, and revise.
These three words sum up the current situation behind the implementation of Instagram’s new user guidelines, which were not popular with social media users.
According to a new post from Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom, the Instagram team has revised the terms of service (TOS), reverting it to the version that’s been in place since it launched in 2010.
Systrom goes on to explain what the company will do from hereon. “Going forward,” he writes, “rather than obtain permission from you to introduce possible advertising products we have not yet developed, we are going to take the time to complete our plans, and then come back to our users and explain how we would like for our advertising business to work.”
“Instagram has no intention of selling your photos, and we never did,” writes Systrom. “We don’t own your photos – you do.”
