
MANILA, Philippines – Microsoft at its Xbox E3 2018 Briefing in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 10 (June 11, Manila time), said it acquired 4 independent studios to shore up its first-party games library, in addition to opening up a new studio.
Phil Spencer, Microsoft’s head for Xbox, said Undead Labs, makers of State of Decay 2, Playground Games of Forza Horizon fame, Compulsion Games, the studio working on We Happy Few, and Ninja Theory, the team behind Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will be joining Microsoft’s roster of first-party studios.
Microsoft also set up a new game studio – The Initiative. The Initiative is led by Darrell Gallagher, the former head of the studio behind the Tomb Raider reboot, Crystal Dynamics. – Rappler.com
