MANILA, Philippines – Following the announcement of Apple’s acquisition of Beats, it seems the next step for the company is the removal of redundant posts before the acquisition is completed.
9-to-5 Mac reports that Apple executives visited Beats headquarters to offer specific groups of employees positions at Apple. Other staff members were notified that they wouldn’t be part of the transition of Beats to Apple.
Their report also noted that actions affecting the finance, human resources, and support departments within Beats have been largely completed. Some have been laid off in the past few weeks, a few were given definite positions in Apple, while others were given temporary positions lasting till January 2015.
Apple reportedly prepared a dedicated phone hotline for Beats staff so they could talk to Apple’s human resources team about severance packages and job transitioning.
Beats senior staff will also have their own roles to play in Apple’s system. Beats co-founders Jimmy Iovine and Dr Dre have commitments to work with Apple in some capacity.
A source speaking to 9-to-5 Mac, meanwhile, added that Beats Chief Creative Officer Trent Reznor and Beats Music CEO Ian Rogers will also be joining Apple. – Rappler.com
