MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Rappler’s news app has once again been updated for users running Android phones.
Some behind-the-scenes improvements are now in place that should provide a smoother experience for Rappler readers.
Specifically, adjustments have been made on the display of stories to make them easier to read.
We have also made progress on speeding up load times so you can get to the stories you want with less waiting.
The app sports a redesign meant to add new features and help users find the freshest news on Rappler quickly.
The Rappler app now shows the top stories and latest news immediately on the landing page, with pages showing a quick navigation toolbar to let them get back to the home page, check the mood navigator for the mood of the day, and access special features.
These special features include the ability to submit stories straight from the app – allowing for citizen journalists to send in news reports and pictures of events they’ve witnessed – and the ability to add stories in the app to their list of favorites.
The “More” option also gives access to the #RapplerBlogs and other initiatives like #HungerProject, #BalikBayan, and #PopeFrancisPH, among others.
Story pages have also been further designed with readablity on small screens in mind. Users can also easily find the font size toggle at the top of each story page, and can also comment from within the app if they so choose.
We hope you enjoy these changes we’ve made, and as always, feel free to let us know in the comments what you think.
