It's a great package for a great game

This is an abridged version of an original article from One More Game here.

Tales of Arise, the latest entry in the long-running series from Bandai Namco, has finally arrived and is now in the hands of fans who have waited years for a new game. It has received rave reviews across the board from various outlets, with our own review (Tales of Arise review: A resounding return for the series) calling it “a solid outing that we can’t recommend enough” and is a must-play for fans and newcomers.

Apart from being a must-play, the Tales of Arise Collector’s Edition is definitely a must-have for fans. Sporting a huge but exquisite-looking box and slipcase, the Collector’s Edition (CE) sold out almost immediately after being posted by local retailers on their respective websites. And for good reason, because I think it’s one of the best CE’s in terms of packaging I’ve ever owned in recent memory.

The Tales of Arise Collector’s Edition retailed for $199.99 or P9,995 and includes the following items:

  • Full game (Ultimate Edition)
  • Collectible steelbook
  • Physical and digital soundtrack
  • 64-page artbook
  • Exclusive 18cm Alphen and Shionne Figurine

At first glance, the contents may seem thin for such an expensive set, but the figurine alone is worth it to collector’s and fans alike. Heck, even the box is such a nice piece!

If I had any complaints, it’s that the parts of the figurine pose a slight challenge to assemble due to fear of suddenly breaking something in the process. Other than that, the full package is simply awesome.

Without further ado, let’s unbox the Tales of Arise Collector’s Edition.

That sleeve art is just wow. DualSense included for scale.
The CE contains a 64-page hardbound artbook featuring the exquisite art of the game.
The package includes the game and a lovely collectible steelbook. A physical disc soundtrack is also included.
Some parts need assembly. The figurine is surprisingly light and the parts are slightly flexible and won’t snap easily.
The assembled figure. DualSense for scale.
