Qualcomm announced on Monday, July 27 (July 28, Manila time) it had come out with the latest iteration of its quick charge technology, Quick Charge 5.

Touted as “The World’s Fastest Charging Solution,” Quick Charge 5 lets a user charge their device from 0% to 50% in 5 minutes. It also promises to support more than 100W charging power in a smartphone.

Qualcomm says Quick Charge 5 is up to 70% more efficient, up to 4 times faster, and up to 10 degrees cooler while charging when compared to its predecessors, Quick Charge 4 and 4+.

Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 5 is expected to come out in devices during the third quarter of 2020. More information on Quick Charge 5 is available on Qualcomm’s new page for the technology. – Rappler.com
