MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – A number of reports have come in confirming that a storm has moved into Oklahoma City and surrounding suburbs.
The Associated Press reports of a tornado touching down near El Reno, heading east towards Oklahoma City.The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has urged motorists to “get off Interstate 40 and drive to the south.”
As of 8:35 am, Philippine time, Piers Morgan of CNN also went on Twitter to say that a tornado has moved into Moore, Oklahoma.

A tornado emergency warning was put up for the Oklahoma City metropolitan area, according to a report from the Associated Press.
The alert, put up Friday evening, May 31 (June 1 Philippine time), includes Oklahoma City and a number of suburbs. Weather emergency warnings of this sort are generally issued by the National Weather Service in the event of a storm with tornadoes heading to a metropolitan area.
This alert also covered Moore, Oklahoma, which was affected by a tornado a week prior, killing at least 91 people.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has also warned motorists to exit Interstate 40 and look for shelter. – Rappler.com
