MANILA, Philippines – A new report released Wednesday, July 9, points to an impending announcement for a Samsung and Oculus co-developed virtual reality (VR) headset.

SamMobile reports that the headset, called the Gear VR, will be announced alongside the Galaxy Note 4 at IFA 2014, which will be held from September 5 to 10 in Berlin.

SamMobile explains that the Gear VR will feature a modular design, allowing a Galaxy device to be docked into the Gear VR via USB 3.0. The virtual reality effect is done through head tracking, with the smartphone’s accelerometer, gyroscope, and processing systems tracking head motion.
