Meralco rates up in November
The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) on Wednesday, November 9, announced a slight upward rate adjustment of P0.0844 per kilowatt hour (kwh), bringing the overall rate for a typical household to P9.9472 per kwh this November.
Meralco said that a typical household consuming 200 kwh will see an increase of around P17 in their total electricity bill. For households consuming as much as 500 kwh, it’s an upward adjustment of P42.
The rate hike was due to higher generation charges, as well as increases in transmission and other charges.
