Bratayley family confirms Caleb’s cause of death

MANILA, Philippines – The family of Caleb Bratayley confirmed that the 13-year-old YouTube star died of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.

The heart condition went undetected in Caleb’s yearly checkups. “Caleb didn’t have any symptoms so the doctor said there was nothing we could have done differently,” they wrote.

The doctor confirmed today that Caleb passed away from a heart condition called Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy that went undetected in his yearly checkups. According to Mayo Clinic, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy is a disease where “the heart muscle becomes abnormally thick.” This makes it difficult for the heart to pump blood.

Caleb’s death was announced on October 2.

Bratayley is not actually the family’s true surname. The family has been posting videos on their channel since 2010, sharing snippets of their daily lives and the children’s various antics. – Rappler.com
