MANILA, Philippines – Paolinne Michelle “Mich” Liggayu has gone through so much in the past few months – losing her fiance Jam Sebastian (one half of the popular ‘Jamich’ YouTube couple) after his battle with lung cancer, and enduring a very public conflict with Jam’s mom Maricar following his death.
Now, she has also talked about another difficult time in her past, looking back to an ex-boyfriend who came before Jam.
“Kasi naging bad po siya sa akin e (He wasn’t good to me),” she said at a press conference for a new project with TV5, a TV adaptation of Wattpad story “How to Break Up with a Bad Boy,” when asked about why the relationship before Jam did not work out.
“Na-hurt niya po ako physically. Naging sobrang higpit lang siya,” she said. (He hurt me physically. He became very strict.)
She later said that she was with her ex for two years and that the relationship turned sour near the end.
“Nag-focus din lang po ako sa friends ko, and siguro a few months din, nakilala ko na rin po si Jam,” she said, when asked how she was able to recover. (I focused on my friends, and a few months later, I got to know Jam.)
She started dating Jam, her second boyfriend, in 2008 and they stayed together until his death in 2015, getting engaged in 2014. (READ: Jamich: A love story for keeps)
She said they went through their ups and downs as a couple, and overcame the most challenging hardships. She continues to miss Jam even while trying to move on.
“Trying po. Trying to move forward. Hindi naman po sa makalimot, kasi si Jam po will be forever part of my heart naman, sana lang yung mga bad memories, sana yun lang ang maalis, pero yung good memories [will remain],” she said.
(It’s not about forgetting, because Jam will forever be part of my heart. I just hope the bad memories, those will fade, but the good memories will remain.)
Mich squarely denied dating Neo Domingo, to whom she was previously linked right around the time Jam was fighting for his life in the final stages of cancer. (READ: Mich Liggayu of Jamich on Maricar Sebastian, Neo Domingo)
These days, Mich is focusing on her work and aiming for a career in showbiz while continuing with her YouTube videos. In this new project with TV5, she plays Monique, who becomes involved in a love triangle with two brothers played by Vin Abrenica and Martin Escudero. This will air over a week, from May 25-29. – Rappler.com
