MANILA, Philippines – Stranger Things breakout star Joseph Quinn, who played fan favorite character Eddie Munson, might just join A Quiet Place! The British actor is in negotiations to play a lead role in Paramount’s upcoming Quiet Place spin-off film, A Quiet Place: Day One, alongside Black Panther star Lupita Nyong’o.
According to a Deadline report, Day One will be written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, based on original director John Krasinki’s idea, with Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, and Krasinki producing. The plot is still unconfirmed, but the film is already slated for a March 8, 2024 premiere.
The spin-off is separate from the current Quiet Place franchise, which has a third film in the works with Krasinki at the helm. A Quiet Place 3 set to debut in 2025.
It is a sequel to the box-office 2021 hit A Quiet Place 2, which grossed nearly $300 million globally. It starred Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe, and Cillian Murphy, among others. It collected a whopping $48 million at the box office on its opening weekend, which was the biggest three-day haul of the pandemic era then. A Quiet Place, which premiered in 2018, earned $340 million a $17 million budget.
Aside from his iconic role as the leader of the Hellfire Club at Hawkins High in season four of Netflix’s Stranger Things, Quinn has had several other British TV roles on Dickensian, Howards End, Catherine the Great, and BBC series Les Misérables. – Rappler.com
