WATCH: Pia Wurtzbach plays ‘Pokémon Go’ in New York

MANILA, Philippines – Miss Universe 2015 and self-professed gamer Pia Wurtzbach might just be on her way to becoming a Pokémon master!

On Thursday, July 14, Pia was on her way to a movie premiere and seen playing the game in a Facebook Live video on the Miss Universe page.

Pia also said the it was not hard to guess her favorite Pokémon character, Pikachu.

In the spirit of the #Pokemon fever.

At one point in the video, Pia even sang the Pokémon theme song: “I wanna be the very best like no one ever was / To catch them is my real test / To train them is my cause…”

In the end, Pia said she caught 4 Pokémons, which includes a Sandshrew and a Voltorb.

Playing Pokémon is nothing new for Pia. A self-confessed gamer, she is also a Final Fantasy fan and was even invited to the launch of the Final Fantasy XV last March.

Pia is currently in the Philippines to meet with President Rodrigo Duterte about the country possibly hosting the next Miss Universe pageant. – Rappler.com
