Justine's 'Sari' ensemble draws inspiration from the legends of Mount Apo

MANILA, Philippines – Justine Felizarta looked regal in her national costume for the Miss Tourism World 2022 pageant.

Designed by Neil Patrick Jimlani, the ensemble is called “Sari,” and drew inspiration from the legend of Mount Apo.

“The costume is enthused by the scenic landscape of the mountain and colorful culture of the Moro and Indigenous people of the Philippines,” the Miss World Philippines organization captioned their post of Justine’s look.

They added that the color green symbolizes growth and renewal, a depiction of the growth of the empowered women of today’s generation, while the “bulawan” or the gold accents represent women as the gems of the tribe.

Justine, who is currently in Vietnam, also wore the ensemble when she visited the Hung Temple.

“Bringing the world to Vietnam…. Grateful for this experience and all that there is to come,” she said in an Instagram post.

Justine was named Miss World Philippines Tourism 2022, also known as first princess, during the Miss World Philippines coronation night in June where Gwendolyne Fourniol took home the top title.

It was in early November when MWP first announced Justine’s appointment as the country’s representative for the 31st edition of Miss Tourism World.

The Miss Tourism World 2022 coronation night is set on December 3. – Rappler.com
