Miss Universe PH opens applications for 2023 pageant

MANILA, Philippines – Miss Universe Philippines announced on Monday, November 7, that they have opened applications for their 2023 pageant. 

“The most prestigious crown in the country can be yours for the taking,” they said. 

Interested applicants should be at least 18 to 27 years old, female, and a Filipino citizen. There’s also no specific minimum height requirement for this edition’s screening process. 

The announcement also noted that aspiring beauty queens could apply “regardless of civil status,” as compared to the previous editions where it was a requirement that candidates should have never been married or pregnant. 

This comes after Paula Shugart, president of the Miss Universe organization, confirmed in September that the 72nd edition of the pageant will now allow moms and wives to participate in the competition. 

Aspiring beauty queens can fill out the application form and send the accomplished copy to contact@missuniverseph.com not later than January 29, 2023, 11:59 pm. 

The Miss Universe Philippines title is currently held by Celeste Cortesi of Pasay, who will be competing in the 71st international pageant  in the United States in January. – Rappler.com
