Samantha is set to return to the Philippines after her post-Miss Grand International pageant activities in Thailand

Miss Grand International 2020 1st runner-up Samantha Bernardo wowed pageant fans on Tuesday, May 11 with her latest look during a courtesy call at the Philippine Embassy in Thailand.

Samantha wore a bright yellow gown with her runner-up sash and crown. She was also seen posing with members of the Filipino community in Thailand.

On her Instagram, the 28-year-old beauty queen revealed that she’s flying back to the Philippines on Wednesday, May 12. “Maraming salamat (Thank you) Philippine Embassy for today’s courtesy call visit. I’m so excited to go back home tomorrow,” Samantha wrote.

“I am beyond grateful for everything. See you Philippines,” she wrote in one of her posts.

Since the coronation night of Miss Grand International on March 27, Samantha has been staying in Thailand for post-pageant activities. In one of her posts with fellow Miss Grand International candidates, she wrote about her pageant experience.

“Throughout this whole experience, I’ve learned that pageantry is not always about WINNING. Winning is just part of your growth process, to amplify your voice and to create something beautiful that a lot of people can benefit from. It’s not always about the coronation night, the glam and looks that the girls prepared, the show, and all those glitz and glamour,” she began.

Samantha then added her own sentiments about pageantry. “I wish more people can appreciate, celebrate and own every single day how awesome they are because that is what pageantry is all about. It’s all about us, the woman who holds the crown and gives meaning to it,” she said.
