This year’s pageant is expected to be one of its best, after last year’s winner, Megan Young, was crowned Miss World 2013 at Bali, Indonesia. The actress-beauty queen will fly in to crown her successor.

Roxanne Cabañero, initially included in the list of candidates, quit the pageant after receiving negative reactions.
With its advocacy of “Beauty with a Purpose,” Miss World Philippines focuses on using beauty by giving back. The winner along with her court will put beauty to good use by caring for marginalized women and children of the Philippines through various charities.
