MJ posted a short message on Instagram minutes after the coronation night in Doral, Miami.

“So proud to be a Filipino! Man, cant express how grateful I am to everyone! Im filled with love right now! Love you all! Godbless us! Mabuhay!” MJ wrote.

Hours after the pageant, MJ gave a video message to her supporters, saying she cannot thank everyone enough now that she has fulfilled her mission as the country’s representative to the Miss Universe.



MJ made it to the Top 15 and Top 10 of the competition, but failed to enter the Top 5. Colombia’s Paulina Vega was crowned as Miss Universe 2014.

Meanwhile, past beauty queens congratulated MJ for representing the country. Miss Universe 2012 first runner up Janine Tugonon said that MJ did the country proud. 


Miss Universe first runner up Miriam Quiambao also congratulated MJ for making it to the Top 10.

Actress and 1993 Miss World second princess Ruffa Gutierrez did not hide her sadness that MJ failed to make it. In fact, she said many of them watching were shocked. 


MJ’s fellow beauty queens – Bb. Pilipinas International Bianca Guidotti, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental Kris Tiffany Janson, Bb. Pilipinas Supranational Yvethe Santiago, Bb. Pilipinas Tourism Parul Shah, and Bb. Pilipinas 1st runner up Laura Lehmann shared a video message for MJ.

In a statement, Bb. Pilipinas Charities, Inc. said they are proud of MJ’s run in the pageant.
