The office will be closed for disinfection from July 27 to 31

Department of Health (DOH) Calabarzon regional director Eduardo Janairo announced on Friday, July 24, a temporary physical closure of the regional office from Monday, July 27, until next Friday, July 31.

The announcement came after 7 staff members were confirmed positive for SARS-CoV-2 in a swab test conducted among all its employees last Monday, July 20.

“We have decided to temporarily close the office to give time for an office-wide cleaning and conduct disinfection activity in all its premises,” Janairo said.

“Close contacts of those who have been found to be positive of the virus will undergo strict quarantine and isolation as per requirement to prevent its further spread. These measures shall be employed to ensure the health and safety of the employees and the public as well,” he added.

Among the 7 confirmed cases, 6 are still active cases.

Janairo said all DOH Calabarzon staff will continue to provide necessary services on a work-from-home arrangement, and all official communications will be made via email to chd4a_doh_calabarzon@yahoo.com
