It’s back to work for Rody Duterte.
After a week in hibernation, the president-elect met last night with his transition team and some candidates for top positions in his administration.
Duterte met with 3 of his top picks for the post of PNP chief. All 3 candidates, Ronald dela Rosa, Rene Asperas and Apolinario once served as chief of Davao City police.
He also met with Lt General Ricardo Visaya of the AFP’s Southern Luzon command. Duterte is eyeing him to lead the military.
Today, May 16, Duterte is set to make his first public appearance as the country’s next leader.
He will be meeting with the ambassadors of China, Israel and **.
We also heard that hundreds seeking government posts have been flocking to Davao City to make their case in front of Duterte’s team.
Hotels here are fullybooked with visitors from all over the country. For the first time in history, Davao City is playing a central role in the formation of a new national government.
Duterte has until June 30 to finalize his Cabinet appointments.
