The QC Vax Easy online portal is launched on June 25 following complaints about Quezon City's vaccine booking website eZConsult

The Quezon City government’s new COVID-19 online vaccination portal, QC Vax Easy, has received 78,432 registrations as of Tuesday, June 29, or four days since it was launched, the city’s public affairs department said.

Some 1,378 individuals have also received their first COVID-19 vaccine dose after registering on the website, it added.

The introduction of QC Vax Easy came amid persistent complaints about eZConsult, city government’s original vaccination scheduling website.

The online portal, managed by Zuellig Pharma Corporation, has repeatedly struggled to manage the huge turnout of vaccine registrants on the website.

This prompted Mayor Joy Belmonte to warn Zuellig on June 16 that the city government can terminate its contract with the company if it would be unable to upgrade its system by June 18.

The city government said later that day that the people behind eZConsult have “succeeded in fixing their system,” but that the LGU would push through in launching a city-government assisted online registration system to complement eZConsult.

Unlike eZConsult, QC Vax Easy does not allow registrants to choose their vaccination schedule and hub.

Instead, the city health department contacts registrants for their schedules and assigned inoculation sites.

“The QC Vax Easy will introduce a first-in, first-out registration, meaning those who have registered and submitted their personal information will be given a schedule for their inoculation, depending on the availability of vaccine supply. The city government will prioritize registrants based on their priority group,” the QC government said in a statement on Friday, June 25.

Meanwhile, the QC government announced on Tuesday morning that it was scheduled to open 55,450 vaccination slots on eZConsult at 5 pm the same day. Walk-in clients will not be entertained.

As of June 27, the Quezon City government has fully vaccinated 219,815 individuals out of the 568,840 people who have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose.
