About Dwight de Leon
Dwight de Leon is a multimedia reporter who covers President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the Malacañang, and the Commission on Elections for Rappler. Previously, he wrote stories on the legislative branch and local government units.
Before his stint with Rappler, Dwight was a program producer and writer for various shows of the ABS-CBN News Channel, such as Top Story, ANC Headlines, Balitang America, and The World Tonight. In college, he oversaw a number of student programs for DZUP 1602.
Dwight finished his broadcast communication degree at the University of the Philippines Diliman in 2017, graduating magna cum laude. His active participation in campus journalism in his hometown in Oriental Mindoro when he was younger inspired him to pursue a career in the media.
