WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
On February 8, the official start of the 2022 campaign season, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and his running mate doctor Willie Ong will kick off their respective presidential and vice-presidential bids from Heroes Park or Kartilya ng Katipunan in Manila.
The two are running under national party Aksyon Demokratiko. The party’s three senatorial bets – Samira Gutoc, Carl Balita, and Jopet Sison – will also be launching their senatorial bids during the Heroes Park rally.

When Isko Moreno won as mayor of Manila in 2019, he vowed to clean up the filth of the very city he grew up in. He assembled the Special Mayor’s Reaction Team headed by Brigadier General Vicente Danao Jr., former top cop of then-mayor Rodrigo Duterte in Davao City.
This anti-crime team operated under Moreno and worked to rid the city of all forms of corruption and organized crime. The team has also guarded and assisted Moreno in his clearing operations and arrested wanted suspects around the city. Read the full story here.
