Robredo spokesman: Transition going smoothly, documents turned over

While Vice president-elect Sara Duterte’s term is set to begin on June 30, the Office of the Vice President (OVP) has already turned over all program documents under outgoing Vice President Leni Robredo’s administration, according to her spokesperson Barry Gutierrez.

On Sunday, June 19, Gutierrez said on the Biserbisyong Leni radio show it is up to Duterte whether she wants to continue them or make new ones, considering she might focus on her mandate as education secretary.

(All of the details and reports about the initiatives of VP Leni, from Angat Buhay, to Bayanihan E-Konsulta, to all of the other programs launched during the time of COVID – we have turned over to VP-elect Sara Duterte’s staff.)

Gutierrez said the transition was going “smoothly.” On June 27, the OVP will hold its last general assembly under Robredo’s leadership at the Quezon City Reception House, where the OVP extended an invite to Duterte. Most of Robredo’s coterminous staff will step down with her, but there will be a few career civil service employees who will continue working at the OVP under Duterte.

Gutierrez said Robredo and Duterte have yet to meet personally regarding the transition.
