Samar

Samar, formerly known as Western Samar, is a 1st-class province in the Philippines. It is part of Eastern Visayas located in the Visayas. It has a population of 793,183 as of the 2020 Census, and a land area of 6,048.03 square kilometers.

The province is composed of 2 cities and 24 municipalities. Its capital is Catbalogan City.

In the 2022 elections, the province had 597,290 registered voters.
