MANILA, Philippines – China’s air force repeatedly entered Taiwan’s air defense zone in the past year, seen as a way for China to subdue Taiwan amid growing tension.

On Thursday, December 2, Rappler editor-at-large Marites Vitug speaks to analyst Drew Thompson on the increased tension between China and Taiwan, and how it can impact Southeast Asia.

Thompson is a visiting senior research fellow at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore. He was formerly the director for China, Taiwan, and Mongolia in the United States’ Office of the Secretary of Defense.
