The Ateneo Association of Communication Majors (ACOMM) will hold its New Media Summit with the theme "World 2.0: New Media and Beyond" on Saturday, February 16.
Series of talks will be made in the morning followed by supplementary workshops in the afternoon that aim to address issues in the Philippine media today both in the theoretical and practical aspects.
Through this event ACOMM would like to empower its participants to think critically and act responsibly about the various issues on new media. By providing a venue for public discourse, students, who are the future of the media industry, can benefit greatly from the New Media Summit.
Speakers in the summit are: Pia Faustino, the multimedia manager of GMA News and Public Affairs; Lourd de Veyra, multi-awarded multimedia artist; and Matthew Cua, the Managing Director of the Ateneo Innovation Center (AIC).
The summit will be held on February 16 from 9 am to 5 pm in the Ateneo De Manila University Leong Hall Auditorium.
Participant's fee is P300 (inclusive of kits and food). For more information, visit their Facebook Page.
