GMA stars react to Aljur Abrenica’s complaint against network

MANILA, Philippines  – Following the news that GMA-7 actor Aljur Abrenica filed a case to terminate his contract with the network, many of his colleagues expressed surprise over his decision. 

Kris Bernal, his Starstruck batchmate and previous love team partner told Pep that she was caught off-guard by the news. 

“Hindi naman tama ang ginawa niya,” she said. (What he did was not right.) 

“When it comes to work as an actor, as a performer, magaling siya.  Pero yung pagreklamo niya, nagulat ako na ginawa niya yun.” (When it comes to work as an actor, he’s good. But the way he complained, I was surprised at what he did.)

In another Pep interview, Rocco Nacino, one of Aljur’s good friends and also a Starstruck alumni, said that he would prefer not to talk about the issue, saying that it’s very sensitive.  

“Yes, nagkakausap kami, pero hindi ko na brining up [bring up] yun kasi hindi ito ang tamang environment para pag-usapan ‘yan.” 

(Yes, we talked but I did not bring up because it’s not the right environment to talk about it,” he tol Pep.

Alden Richards meanwhile also told Pep said that he is praying that Aljur made the right decision.

“Ako po, pinagpe-pray ko na sana makabuti po ang desisyon na ginagawa niya. Sana maging okay na po soon,” he said.

(I am praying that the decision he made will be good for him. I hope it will be okay soon.)

Meanwhile, German Moreno  also told Pep that he willing to help both camps to settle the issue.

“Kaya ako, nandidito lang if sabihin niya na gusto na niyang makipag-usap nang matapos na kung ano man ang problema niya sa GMA-7,” he said.

(I am here if he wants to talk and settle the issue with GMA-7).

The veteran host said that he talked with Aljur and told him to think thoroughly of his actions.

Last July 24, Aljur decided to file the case, saying that his plans and the plans of the network were not aligned. He denied that there were other offers from other networks. 

The network meanwhile released a statement on Tuesday, July 28 calling the incident “very unfortunate.”– Rappler.com
