‘Stop the stigma’: Liza Soberano flags movie poster for poking fun at mental health

Actress Liza Soberano criticized a teaser poster for an upcoming movie, pointing out that it made a joke out of mental health.

“Really hoping that this movie will spread awareness and enlighten us on the struggles of dealing with mental health. But the poster? It’s a no for me,” the actress tweeted on Monday, February 8.

Liza was referring to the poster for the upcoming movie Tililing, which stars Baron Geisler, Gina Pareño, Chad Kinis, Donnalyn Bartolome, Candy Pangilinan, and Yumi Lacsamana, among others.

“Mental health is NOT a joke. Stop the stigma,” said Liza.

In the poster, the 6 stars are photographed with their tongues stuck out. Geisler, Pareño, and Kinis seem to be in white shirts, while the rest look like they’re wearing uniforms.

The movie was originally slated for a 2020 release but was presumably pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Few details have been released about the film so far but its director earlier described it as having “a little horror, meron din kaunting (it has a little) comedy, drama, kabaliwan (craziness).”

“Tililing,” director Darryl Yap told media in 2019, is a “Filipino term for someone who is not sane.”
