'Companions! XJ Narratives' contains essays by former Jesuits and their families about their lives after leaving the Society of Jesus

This is an announcement from San Anselmo Publications.

San Anselmo Press has just published Companions! XJ Narratives, edited by Gémino H. Abad, Ruben L. F. Habito, and Ed Garcia.

The book contains essays by former Jesuits and their families reflecting on how their lives unfolded after leaving the Society of Jesus.

The following is an excerpt of the introduction by Ed Garcia:

“The stories we have compiled touch but a fraction of those we call XJs, and it is our hope that by reading this manuscript that others may be inspired to contribute their stories as well to enrich this treasure trove of memorable experiences for the greater glory of God…. More than anything else, perhaps, a common experience bound us together, forging deep bonds of friendship as “companions of Jesus.” Though our paths may have diverged and we are involved in diverse undertakings, there are certain themes that recur in our lives and, perhaps, will mark us till our dying days. We tell our brief stories in the following pages, different stories with a common thread; diverse viewpoints and backgrounds, perhaps, but from a shared perspective – that of ‘friends in the Lord.'”

The book, with more than 400 pages, retails at P780 per copy plus shipping cost (P185 in Metro Manila, P205 to P285+ outside Metro Manila). To order Companions! XJ Narratives, send a message with your name and contact information to the San Anselmo Publications Facebook page. – Rappler.com
