Converge ICT Solutions saw a windfall in 2021, as the pandemic enticed people to get fixed broadband lines in their homes.

Profits for the first nine months of the year were up 27.6% to P5.2 billion, while revenues jumped 76.4% to P18.8 billion. The subscriber base grew 75%.

In this episode of Business Sense, Converge co-founder and president Grace Uy talks about the company’s history and rapid growth, her prospects for the Philippine telecommunications industry, and her realizations amid the pandemic.

Uy also tells Rappler about Warburg Pincus’ block sale and what it means for Converge and investors.

Converge chief operations officer Jesus Romero also joins Business Sense for the second time, weighing in on emerging tech trends like the so-called metaverse, as well as the company’s links with billionaire Elon Musk. – Rappler.com
