MANILA, Philippines – Nearly 10 years after it first premiered on Philippine television, noontime variety show It’s Showtime is going overseas after an Indonesian channel acquired a franchise.
Over the weekend, MNCTV has been sharing teasers of the Indonesian version of the hit Filipino show. According to ABS-CBN, It’s Showtime business unit head Peter Edward Dizon shared the MNCTV video on his own Facebook page.
It’s Showtime host Jugs Jugueta also confirmed as much. He, co-host Teddy Corpuz, and director Bobet Vidanes will be flying to Indonesia for the show’s premiere on March 25, according to the Manila Bulletin.
It’s Showtime, which airs from Monday to Saturday, features an impressive ensemble of the Philippines’ biggest names in the entertainment industry – top comedians, actors, and musicians. The show has various segments, including Miss Q & A, Tawag ng Tangahalan, and Magpasikat, to name a few.
It remains unclear if the Indonesian version will have similar or different segments. – Rappler.com
