The actress' film and TV career spans over 6 decades

Emmy-winning Arrested Development actress Jessica Walter died on Wednesday, March 24, in New York at the age of 80.

According to a Deadline report, Jessica’s daughter Brooke Bowman confirmed “with a heavy heart” the passing of her beloved mom Jessica.

“A working actor for over 6 decades, her greatest pleasure was bringing joy to others through her storytelling both on screen and off. While her legacy will live on through her body of work, she will also be remembered by many for her wit, class and overall joie de vivre,” Brooke said. Aside from Brooke, Jessica is also survived by her grandson Micah Heymann.

Walter made her film debut in Robert Rossen’s Lilith in 1964, with her first TV series role on For The People in 1965. She is also known for her role in Clint Eastwood’s 1971 film Play Misty For Me. Other stints include Streets of San Francisco, Trapper John M.D., The Flamingo Kid, and Ironside spin-off Amy Prentiss. She also lent her voice to animated comedy Archer.

She garnered an Emmy nomination and two Screen Actors Guild nominations for her role as Lucille Bluth on Arrested Development for 5 seasons. – Rappler.com
