Taylor Swift is returning to the big screen!

According to a Deadline report, the 31-year-old pop superstar has been cast in David O. Russell’s latest film. The title of the film, as well as plot details, have been kept under wraps.

Margot Robbie, Christian Bale, Mike Myers, Robert De Niro, Anya Taylor-Joy, Rami Malek, Zoe Saldana, Michael Shannon, Timothy Olyphant, Andrea Riseborough, and Alessandro Nivola are also reported to be part of the cast.

Russell (American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook) will direct the film from his own script, his first feature since 2015’s Joy, starring Jennifer Lawrence. Russell is also producing the film with Matthew Budman and Anthony Katagas.

The release date for the untitled film has yet to be announced.

Swift was last seen on the big screen in the 2019 film adaptation of the popular hit musical Cats. She also appeared in the movies Valentine’s Day and The Giver.

The 11-time Grammy winner also starred in her own Netflix documentary Miss Americana and Disney+ documentary Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions.

She achieved the feat in a span of 259 days, following the release of folklore on July 31, 2020, evermore on December 18, 2020 and Fearless (Taylor’s Version) on April 9, 2021. – Rappler.com
