Rappler Talk: ‘Trip to Quiapo’ and the creative’s journey
We talk to Ricky Lee and Enchong Dee about 'Trip to Quiapo' and the trials and glory of writing

It’s hard to imagine a Philippines without Ricky Lee’s work. His body of work, after all, includes classics and cult favorites in Philippine cinema and literature.

But for the 72-year-old, what’s most important nowadays isn’t the work he puts out but the lessons he passes around. Those lessons are immortalized in Trip to Quiapo, an iWant TFC masterclass docu series based on Lee’s 1998 book of the same title.

In this episode of Rappler Talk, entertainment editor Bea Cupin talks to Lee about the series and about the creative process. We’re also joined by Enchong Dee, who plays “Julio Manunulat,” a Trip to Quiapo character who stands for every writer who’s struggling with, and relishing, the creative process.
