MANILA, Philippines – The SMX Convention Center has been turned into a giant bookstore – that is, from Wednesday, September 13 to 17, as it’s hosting the 38th annual Manila International Book Fair (MIBF).

From 10 am to 8 pm on those dates, the SMX’s first and second floors will be filled with over a hundred stalls selling books of all genres for educators and casual readers alike.

Despite it’s name, the MIBF is more than just books – the convention is a back-to-school dream, with school supplies also up for sale, along with colored pens, calligraphy kits, art sets, and many more.

The convention opened on Wednesday, September 18, with a speech by Boy Abunda about the books that changed his life. Later that day, the convention floor was teeming with teachers, students, and enthusiasts searching the shelves for new titles and limited edition buys.
