New York-based Pilipino American Unity for Progress (UniPro) celebrates their 4th anniversary with special gala

NEW YORK CITY, USA— Pilipino American Unity for Progress, Inc. (UniPro) will be celebrating the fourth anniversary of their organization on Friday, August 16, 2013 at The Madelyn in New York City.

UniPro was established in August 14, 2009 with an inaugural launch at the Philippine Consulate General in New York City. Since then, UniPro has grown from its 13 founding members to a staff of over 30 Pilipino American young professionals and students.

“The gala will be an opportunity for us to thank all of our amazing supporters and friends for their continued support of UniPro and our projects,” said Rachelle Ocampo, current President of UniPro. “We are grateful to them, and to our past and current staff members for their extraordinary efforts to help UniPro grow.”

“It’s a celebration of the past, and also the future,” added Kristina Joyas, founding member and current Director of Staff Development for UniPro. “We are excited for the opportunity to serve the Pilipino community for many more years to come.”

The event will include an award ceremony recognizing the 10 founding members and past staff, with special acknowledgements for UniPro’s strongest supporters and donors. Community leaders and representatives from a number of Pilipino/Pilipino American organizations and establishments in New York and New Jersey have been invited.
