 MANILA, Philippines – After months of debate, the Philippines has finally endorsed the use of coronavirus boosters, allowing health workers and the elderly populations to be the first among those who will receive an additional shot.

But why now? What evidence compelled experts to allow the use of boosters in the Philippines and what does it mean for the country’s vaccine drive?
