Former president Joseph “Erap” Estrada is back in the intensive care unit (ICU) due to a “bacterial lung infection,” his son Jinggoy said on Friday, April 16.
“He has been brought back to the regular ICU (non-COVID-19) for monitoring and support of his blood pressure which fluctuated due to the said infection,” the former senator wrote in a Facebook post.
“But overall, he is stable with high flow oxygen support,” Jinggoy added.
Another son of the older Estrada, former senator JV Ejercito, also asked for prayers for their father’s recovery.
Estrada, who is turning 84 on April 19, was first rushed to the hospital on March 28, after testing positive for the coronavirus. He was transferred from the ICU to a regular room on April 14, a day after he tested negative for COVID-19. – Rappler.com
