CAMPAIGN TRAIL. Presidential candidate Senatror Panfilo Lacson, left, and running-mate Senate President Vicente Sott III,, at the media brefing before the proclamation rally in Imus, Cavite on Tuesday, February 8.

Senators Panfilo Lacson and Vicente Sotto III, both 73 years old, see no problem with their age as they kicked off their campaign on Tuesday, February 8.

Lacson and Sotto want to be your ‘alternative candidates’

“We can provide a good alternative. We’re not pro-opposition, we’re not pro-administration. We’re pro-Filipino,” Senate President Vicente Sotto III told reporters back in July 2021.

Sotto and Lacson have consistently slammed the Duterte government’s mishandling of the coronavirus pandemic. They wanted to form a government which could do a better job. To improve governance, they cited the need for budget reform.

The approach could be an alternative to federalism, the tandem said, “without changing the Constitution.”
