The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) event, which was dominated by the Philippines in the the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, will make its return to the Vietnam Games this year.

The head of the 31st SEA Games and 11th ASEAN Para Games, and the minister of culture, sports and tourism of Vietnam Nguyen Ngoc Thien officially signed the list of esports events on Wednesday, March 24.

League of Legends Wild Rift, which was released in October 2020, was the latest to be added to the eight-title tournament and will have a male and female division.

Other titles include Arena of Valor (AOV), PUBG Mobile (Solo and Team), Free Fire (Mobile), League of Legends (PC), FIFA Online 4 (PC) and Raid (Crossfire – PC).

In 2019, the Philippines hosted the inaugural SEA Games esports tournament, where the country pocketed 3 golds, 1 silver, and 1 bronze out of the 7 titles played.

Only MLBB and AOV will be making a return to the regional biennial meet’s esports lineup.

Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino announced that a total of 626 athletes competing in 39 of 40 sports will represent Team Philippines in the games slated November 21 to December 2 in Hanoi. – Rappler.com
